Alabama Artificial Limb & Orthopedic Service, Inc. (AAL&OS) announced that Keith Uuro recently earned his certification as a prosthetist from the Board for Prosthetist Certification (BOC).

To receive this credential, Uuro successfully completed extensive training as well as supervised practical experience, and passed a comprehensive certification examination. BOC is an accredited independent agency that provides professional certification throughout the United States and Canada.

“Keith is one of the most important members of our professional staff. He has been an integral part of the company’s recent growth and expansion,” said Glenn Crumpton, C.P.O., C.Ped., president of AAL&OS. “Because of Keith’s many skills and talents, he is able to provide our patients excellent patient care.”

Uuro , a member of the professional staff at AAL&OS has been employed with the company for over a decade. As a technician, Uuro gained a tremendous amount of experience while producing prosthetic devices in the laboratory. In recent years,, he has been gradually taking on a more active role in patient care under the direction of an ABC-certified prosthetist and orthotist.

“I have looked forward to providing one-on-one patient care for many years,” said Uuro. “We as prosthetists are so fortunate to be in a profession where we are able to make a difference in people’s lives. We can literally watch somebody who has lost a limb, regain their functional independence.”
