AAL&OS Welcomes New Goodwill Ambassador

“Rosie the Fire Truck” Joins TeamAAL&OS

There is something about fire trucks that make people of all ages get all googly-eyed. Maybe it's the bright red paint or the flashing lights and sirens. Or maybe it’s just being able to touch something that has such an exciting history — the unsung hero of so many dangerous rescue scenarios.

Touching it, you can almost imagine the adrenaline of the firefighters riding into do battle with the flames and smoke of a big fire. Everyone wants to hear the stories it could tell if only it could talk. Which is precisely the reason why Alabama Artificial Limb & Orthopedic Service (AAL&OS) decided that a fire truck would make a great ambassasor for the company.  Click here to read the whole article.

The Amputee Sport and Fitness Clinic

Presented by Team AALOS and Ossur

Glenn Crumpton, LPO is excited to be able to bring this running clinic that will provide an opportunity to learn training techniques for advanced prosthetic activities.  This clinic will be presented by United States Paralympic Gold Medalist Brian Frasure.  We are fortunate to have this clinic in our area and hope you will be able to arrange your schedule to spend the afternoon with us.  Participate in the excitement with our own Wounded Warriors and others as they learn to run at a world class level.

Alabama Artificial Limb and Orthopedic Service

Team AALOS and Ossur America teamed up to provide an Olympic sized educational event. With over fourtyfive attendees including PT's, PTA's, ATC's, others in the allied health care profession, and individuals with lower limb amputations of all levels received a world class morning of instruction from Brain Frasure, Certified Prosthetist, transtibial (BK) amputee and gold, silver and bronze medalist in Greece '04, Beijing '08. It was a mixture of fun and serious strategies that everyone in attendance walked away/ran in some cases with the confidence to achieve higher levels of function from both the rehab professionals perspective as well as individuals wearing the prosthetics.

Come join us at the fair October 9th through October 18th! We will have our firetruck Rosie on site inside the Coliseum. Team AALOS will have staff at our booth at all times to answer any questions you might have about prosthetics, orthotics, pedorthics and post-mastectomy products. Stop by and say hey, pick up a few goodies, and get some information about our products and services. While you are there take a picture with our firetruck Rosie! AALOS is proud to be a part of such a great community, so don't be shy, come on by!

This fall Team AALOS was fortunate enough to participate in not only one but two holiday parades. Team AALOS participated in the annual Turkey Day Classic Parade and the City of Montgomery Christmas Parade. Both events were exciting chances to meet the great people that are part of the Montgomery community. Rosie the firetruck made an appearance at both events; she was our main feature as we enjoyed riding Rosie down Dexter avenue. It is so exciting to see everyone getting together around this time of year. So from our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
