Lobbying For Our Patients
AALOS is very aware that the climate surrounding healthcare benefits and reimbursement is constantly evolving. We take the approach that in many cases, this is new territory for you as a new patient. You will need an advocate to help you understand and maintain your benefits. To achieve this, AALOS CEO, Glenn Crumpton, LPO has been actively involved in state and national governmental and policy developments that concern prosthetic, orthotic and post mastectomy care. For example, In 2002 Glenn was involved in the passage of the law that created a consumer protection agency, now called the Alabama State Board of Prosthetics and Orthotics, for people requiring custom prosthetic and orthotic devices and services.
Glenn was also part of the team that had the law passed to cover prosthetic and orthotic care for the adult Medicaid population in the state of Alabama in 2009. He also serves on the Medicaid Prosthetic and Orthotic Program advisory group that meets quarterly to review the benefit.
Glenn has served on the National Association for the Advancement of Prosthetics and Orthotics (NAAOP) board since 2011. Its sole purpose is to lobby and advocate for the prosthetic and orthotic consumer and the prosthetic and orthotic profession on a national level.
Glenn is on various advisory committees for prosthetic manufacturers that serve to advocate for product development and enhanced services. Various practitioners at AALOS sit on other advisory committees and boards to give our patients a voice.
